Painting ceramics
Thoughtfully guided, small-group art workshops designed to help you slow down, explore materials and create at your own pace.
Painting Ceramics Workshop
The ceramic painting workshop is a relaxed, hands-on session focused on decorating pre-fired ceramic pieces using specialized ceramic paints and glazes. This workshop is about color, surface, and personal expression rather than shaping clay.
During the workshop, you choose a ready-made ceramic form such as a cup, plate, bowl, or similar piece. You’ll learn how to work with ceramic paints and glazes, how to apply color, build layers, and create patterns, illustrations, or abstract designs. Guidance is gentle and supportive, allowing you to follow your own ideas and style.
Once your piece is painted, it is left with us for firing. The final firing fixes the colors permanently, making your piece durable and food-safe. After firing, your finished ceramic is ready for collection.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and does not require any previous experience. It is a calm, creative experience — ideal if you want to paint, relax, and create a personal ceramic object without committing to multiple sessions.
Painting Workshop on Ceramic Plates
This ceramic painting workshop is a relaxed, hands-on session focused on painting and decorating pre-fired ceramic plates. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is needed. The workshop explores color, surface, and personal expression in a calm, supportive studio setting.
During the workshop, you will choose a ceramic plate and work with ceramic paints, glazes, and relief painting techniques. Relief painting allows you to build subtle texture and raised elements on the surface, creating depth and a tactile quality alongside color. You may combine smooth brushwork with textured areas, patterns, illustrations, or abstract forms — following your own ideas and rhythm.
Guidance is gentle and supportive. You’ll learn how to layer materials, how texture and color interact on ceramic surfaces, and how light and shadow enhance relief elements. There is no fixed outcome to achieve; the focus is on exploration and enjoyment of the process.
Once your plate is finished, it stays with us for firing. The final firing permanently fixes the colors and relief elements, making your plate durable and food-safe. After firing, your finished piece will be ready for collection.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and is ideal if you want to create a functional, personal ceramic object in a single session — combining painting, texture, and mindful making.
